Let’s jump right in and talk about my top FanDuel RB GPP picks of the week for the Sunday main slate. I’ll go over my favorite plays for RB: Top Tier, Middle of the Road and Punt Plays.
I won’t be doing Kicker or Defense. For Kicker look at teams who make it to opponent side of the field a lot but have a low TD % and match it up with teams that allow opponents on their side a lot. I really wish FanDuel would get rid of kickers and go with a Flex. Maybe I’ll switch to DK one day, but until then…
Top Tier ($8,000 +)
DeMarco Murray $8,400 – Thought it was going to be Bell? You could make a case for him too but for GPP but Murray will probably slide under the radar. His upside is there for 3x even at his price tag. He’s averaging over 5 targets a game as well as 14 carries for over 100 yards total production and a TD in every game so far. He’s a nice pivot that carries similar upside as Bell but will be less owned because most people will just pay up for Bell if they’re going up this high but he’ll still be decently owned so make sure to differentiate elsewhere if you go the route of D Murray or Bell.
Middle of the Road ($6,500 to $8,000)
Devonta Freeman $7,400 – Yes I know they’re playing Denver. The reason Freeman makes my list is because they’re playing Denver and Tevin Coleman may not play in this game at all due to his sickle cell condition and the high altitude. Do you remember the things Freeman was able to do while Coleman was out last year? His opportunity is about to go way up while his price tag is way down. Denver has a great defense but the increase in opportunity from a RB we’ve seen deliver massive numbers is a spot we can take a chance on in a GPP. There’s a good chance he could be less than 2% owned.
Eddie Lacy $7,200 – He’s averaging just under 5 YPC and before the bye week we saw his load increase. He’s getting 0.21 fantasy points per snap and that’s only being beat by one other Packer, Jordy Nelson, at 0.26. I really foresee Lacy making his way to the top of the RB charts over the next few weeks and think his resurgence starts here. He is the RZ back here and I foresee some TDs coming his way in the near future.
Punt Plays ( $6,500 and below)
I would fade DeAndre Washington in GPPs. His price tag will make him a 30 to 40% owned RB and I just don’t see his upside. Potential of maybe 15 to 17 carries is his ceiling and I’m not convinced he’ll be the RZ back to plug it in. Not to mention with the Chargers secondary softened up with the loss of Verrett, this game could be very pass heavy and would much rather target the receiving options.
Terrance West $6,400 – I’m not worried about Dixon this week but it’s something to keep an eye on. I can’t imagine Dixon’s first game back him getting too involved which means West will be the go to guy here. West handled 21 carries in week 4 which ranked him 5th in carries. We saw what Crowell was able to do to the Redskins defense last week and I would imagine the load isn’t too lightened for him this week either. Redskins are allowing over 130 yards per game on the ground and have allowed 7 TDs to be run in over 4 weeks. 130 yards and 2 TDs puts West in 4x territory and something you gotta love for a GPP at ownership that could be below 10%.
